Working out of the midtown Manhattan office, our client seeks a Specialty Print Buyer

Job Description:
  • Work as a sales liaison in order to generate revenue for the department
  • Establish and maintain relationship with clients to create more opportunities
  • Follow up with clients for valued satisfaction
  • Receive specs and administer price quotes within 24-48 hours of receipt
  • If quote process needs additional time – communication with sales/client is imperative
  • Recommend or guide clients within the specs of the project
  • Ensure all aspects of the quotes are covered – i.e. proofs, deliveries, press checks etc… and convey this information to the client
  • Keep sales updated with all aspects of the process – ensure that we are communicating all possible obstacle that may impede the deadline and offer solutions to overcome these obstacles.
  • Negotiate with client on pricing, timing and all deliverables clearly and concisely.
  • Guide and assist the PM on all aspects of deliverables.
  • Provide weekly reports on -
                     Number of quotes/Number of jobs input/Number of jobs won/lost
  • Number of jobs lost and reason if known
  • Number of jobs pending and the up-sell possibility (how much will be profit if job comes in and what we are buying it for)
  • Maintain a list of all vendors and their specialties complete with contact information and hours of operation
  • Train/Guide clients/sales team in all aspects of print media jobs (when warranted)
  • Knowledge of the offset print process and print buying skills (5 years)
