Working out of the midtown Manhattan office, our client seeks a Pre-Press Digital Operator

Job Description:
  • Ensure that the proper format, appearance and layout of text and images are set before the full print run is completed. 
  • Require effective communication skills for taking orders from customers, troubleshooting prepress problems as well as addressing Customer Service about clients concerns.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting functions cross department lines and work collaboratively with pre-press, press, and post-press personnel.
  • Prepare sample layouts for approval, using computer software such as
  • Adobe (PDF, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher)Quark, JPG and TIFF
  • Thinking Creatively - developing, designing, creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contribution
  • Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge - Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, and Equipment - Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and installation of software updates and patches
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Knowledge of all digital programs (3-5 years)
  • Manage Client Files
  • Pre-flight - Activating Missing Fonts
  • Convert files to PDF
  • Scaling and Imposing
