Job Description

The Plant Manager will be responsible for the management and direction of the plant. The Plant Manager is in constant interaction with the operations of the entire company, and supervises/leads the operations staff at the appointed plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the alignment of the company's activities and projects are within strategic objectives and goals of the plant.
  • Put in place an annual action plan and supervise that the plan is executed in each department.
  • Ensure effective control of budgets in accordance with accounting policies.
  • Monitor the performance within the different departments.
  • Support other teams functions in operational and strategic management.
  • Regular follow-ups on project progress.
  • Analyze the measurement parameters (KPI) of all operations sectors of the plant.
  • Review and optimize business and management processes.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and a continuous improvement culture.
  • Engage staff in the companies core values, mission, vision and strategies of the company.
  • Communicate expectations and results clearly and acknowledge the contribution of all.
  • Hire, direct, supervise and promote the operations management team.
  • Promote the implementation of collaborative practices.
  • Plan and analyze labor requirements to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Ensure the flow and transmission of relevant information within the plant.
  • Ensure the completion of overall assessments of operations staff performance.
  • Anticipate potential situations and prevent conflicts.

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Administration, Finance, Operations Management or any other relevant field.
  • 10 + years of relevant experience in manufacturing low volume/high mix industrial custom products.
  • 5 + years of experience supervising or managing an operations team with a team-based approach.
  • Experience in a union environment is preferred.
  • Experience within the capital equipment components manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required.
