  • Excellent command of computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous management of people, with a proven track record of positive employee relations and staff development.
Knowledge of transportation systems (Roadnet preferred).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for dispatching, monitoring, controlling and directing the scheduling, communicating and dispatching of all equipment deliveries. 

Dispatch personnel and equipment to ensure the right equipment, drivers and loads are coordinated for the timely and safe delivery of the equipment, while minimizing the number of empty truck runs.
  • Experience with multi-stops deliveries.
  • Ensure transportation realizes a profit for each load.
  • Monitor all drivers on duty and driving time to assure compliance with Federal and State laws as well as company policy.
  • Establish and operate a plan of communication with drivers while in route. Relay new orders, minimize or eliminate delays, and provide timely location of shipments.
  • Assign to drivers all required shipping papers, documents, instructions, permits, and COD invoices as required. Ensure the completion of these items at the end of each trip.
  • Check shipping papers, overages, shortages, damage notations on Foley Rental trucks, invoicing information, logs and trip reports. Report all discrepancies to appropriate coordinator.
  • Complete charges on customer invoices for transportation, permits, escorts, taxes and miscellaneous expenses.
  • Maintain communication with all coordinators and equipment personnel to ensure equipment availability prior to delivery.
  • Inform coordinators about the status of shipments, problems, delays and unfilled customer requests.
  • Maintain and issue all purchases orders for the department with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Answer and disseminate incoming phone calls in a courteous, professional and timely manner to ensure satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
  • Provide supervisors with status reports on all transport activities including driver’s performance in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Create and maintain a maintenance schedule for all transportation equipment. Ensure daily inspections of vehicles are completed and service intervals are performed on schedule.
  • Keep current with the transportation industry. Seek out additional knowledge of value to enhance operating proficiency.
  • Maintain high standard of excellence, quality services, operating integrity, and positive customer image.
