Summary of the Electrical Systems Engineer - ADAS:
Electrical Systems Engineer with product development experience is required to play a key role in developing the electrical products by the assessment of system and component design from requirements through DFMEA’s and validation testing for one of our clients in Michigan area. This is a solid stable and innovative company which is working on the emerging high-technology products to cater to the market. If you have strong experience with the microprocessor and other IC datasheets along with basic knowledge of controls, motors, controllers (HW and SW), sensors and gear, then this position is well suited to you.

Be part of a 5 year old automotive electronics R&D group working on BLEEDING EDGE technology.   You will work on the latest technologies and be part of a team that is recreating how automobile chassis systems will be in the future.   This is the start-up type environment without the risk as it has virtually unlimited funding from a major parent organization.   Think of all the new driver-less cars and the development of the electronic systems and you’ve got it covered!   Everything from concept thru production will be in your domain.  Your contribution is only limited by your skill sets and passion.  Whatever your EE specialty, this is an exciting environment to be at.  As an EE with 5 to 15 years of experience you will be able to apply your passion for technology and grow your career at this “exponentially growing” company in the Midland/Bay City area. 

Responsibilities of the Electrical Systems Engineer - ADAS:
  • Assessment of system and component design to requirements through DFMEA’s and validation testing
  • Develop requirements for software and hardware design engineers 
  • Manage customer technical requirements through requirements tools
  • Generate subsystem and component allocations to meet system-level requirements
  • Coordinate electrical technical activities among subsystem and component groups to meet system requirements
  • Track program technical deliveries to key milestones
  • Collaborate with customers and suppliers for systems and electrical requirements

Qualifications of the Electrical Systems Engineer - ADAS:
  • BS in EE/CE. Master Preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Electrical Product Development
  • Strongly skilled in Matlab and VBA
  • Knowledge of controls, motors, controllers (Hardware/Software), sensors and gear
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, power supply IC
  • Ability to read and understand microprocessor and other IC datasheets
  • Skilled in translating vehicle level requirement, objective and subjective, into system requirements
  • Ability to make high level trade-offs to optimize system architecture
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 Safety Standards and requirements management tools is preferred
  • Experience with communication protocols is preferred
  • Knowledge of SPI, SENT, CAN, etc. is preferred
  • Knowledge of chassis sub-systems and the components is preferred

Compensations of the Product Development Engineer - Electrical Systems:
Salary Range: $90 to 110K /year, depending on experience

Travel:  As and when required

Knowledge of the following areas will be helpful - Electrical, Systems, "product development", design, component, DFMEA, validation, testing, microprocessor. "system architecture", Matlab, simulink, VBA, controls, motors, controllers, sensors, gear, "ISO 26262", "power supply", IC, SPI, SENT, CAN, "chassis sub-systems"
